6.1 Common Problems

The following guide lists most of the simple problems that can occur and offers outline solutions.

Power indicator Power cable
fails to not connected
illuminate. properly or
fuse blown.
Printer status Print-head is
flagged as lifted.
Head Open or
Carriage Open
Printer status The roll of

Ribbon End exhausted or
Err. or Ribbon fitted
Encoder Err. or incorrectly.
No Ribbon Ribbon is not
threaded
through the
ribbon sensor.

relation to the
Gap/Black
Mark sensor.
The Gap or
Black Mark
sensor needs
recalibrating.

Cause
Ensure all connectors are fully inserted and power is switched on.
Close the print-head (close the carriage).
Renew the ribbon or refit it as shown in the instructions.
Renew the label or refit as shown in the instructions.
Recalibrate the sensors as shown in the instructions.
