5.1 Configuring the LAN-related Settings

You can configure several LAN-related settings for the X24 Subsystem:
• IP settings (refer to the X24 Subsystem Getting Started Guide)
• Telnet settings (see

5.1.1 Configuring the Telnet Timeout

You can set the Telnet timeout setting, which controls the number of idle minutes before the Telnet
session times out. The default is no timeout, which is shown as 0 minutes.
To set the Telnet timeout:

In SAM, select Manage X24 Subsystem > General Config > LAN Configuration.
The LAN Configuration page displays.

In the Telnet Configuration panel, enter the timeout period.

Click Change LAN Configuration.

5.1.2 Configuring the SNMP Settings

You can set four Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)-related settings:
• Traps Enabled: On or off toggle to enable SNMP traps. The default is No (disabled).
• SNMP Trap Host: Host computer's IP address that is set up to receive SNMP traps. The default is
• Trap Filter: Informational, Warning, or Error. The default is Warning.
• Event Filter: Informational, Warning, or Error. The default is Warning.
To set the SNMP settings:

In SAM, select Manage X24 Subsystem > General Config > LAN Configuration.
The LAN Configuration page displays.

In the SNMP Configuration panel, select the options you want.
