PROBLEM
The machine will not start.
The printer does not
operate.
The feeder does not
operate.
The machine displays the
message "COVER OPEN"
at start-up.
The machine does not print
and displays no message.
Trouble shooting
SOLUTION
Check the power cord and the
power connection.
- Is the printer switched on? Is the
printer connected?
- Is the printer mode selected in
the SETUP menu?
- Make sure that it is properly
connected (see page 26).
- Make sure that the feeder and
machine covers are closed.
- Is the feeder connected properly?
- If you have no feeder, make sure
that the terminator is fitted (see
page 25).
- Make sure in IMPRNT/MODE that
the machine is not in the PASS
THR mode or the MESSAGE
mode (with no message selected).
Return to NORMAL mode.
- Did you remove the packaging
from the printhead before
inserting it into the machine?
- Clean the printhead.
