PROBLEM
The machine cannot get
started.
The printer does not operate
The machine displays the
message "COVER OPEN"
at start-up.
The machine does not print
and displays no message.
The light does not work.
TO CHECK
Check the power cord and the
connection.
- Is it switched on? Is it connected?
- Is the printer mode selected in
the SETUP menu?
- Make sure that machine covers
are closed.
- Make sure that the terminator is
fitted (see page 16).
- Make sure in menu IMPRINT/
MODE that the machine is not in
the PASS THR or the MESSAGE
mode (with no message selected).
Return to PRESORTED or
LETTER BOX mode.
- Make sure the connection with the
inserter is well set.
- Did you remove the tape from
the printhead before inserting it
into the machine?
- Clean the printhead (menu
CLEAN).
Check the connection with the
mailing system, and the serial port
configuration. Should be by default
on port # 1.
