Envelope #10 (9.5" wide x 4.13" long) feeding flap first:
The following procedure assumes that the printer has been setup to feed # 10 envelopes, flap first.
Don't forget to position the "Media Registration Side Guide" to the outer position.
NOTE: When feeding a #10 envelope in this
orientation you can not print the entire width of
the envelope. Since the printer's maximum print
width is 8.5"; the document size in MS Word will
be set to 8.5" W x 4.13" H and the orientation
will be set to Portrait.
1. Click on File, Print
2. Make sure the "M Series Driver" is
showing as your printer name.
3. Click on the "Properties" button.
4. Click on the "General" Tab.
Under Orientation; select Portrait
5. Under Media Size; Click on the "Custom Sizes..." button.
Tip: If you have already designed a "custom size" for a #10 (8.5" W X 4.13" H) then you can just
select this size from the pull-down list.
6. When the Custom Media Size window opens, enter the following values.
Width: 8.50 inches, Height: 4.13 inches
7. Under Media Name, type a name for this new size. Example: Custom #10 8.5Wx4.13H
Then Click on the "Save" button.
8. Click on OK to exit the "Custom Media Size" window.
9. Click on OK to exit from the "M Series Driver Properties" window.
10. Click on Close, to close the "Print" window to save changes without printing.
Tip: Do not press OK or you will send blank document to the printer.
11. Click on File, Page Setup.
12. Click on the Paper Tab.
13. Under Paper size; select your "custom size" (i.e. Custom #10 8.5Wx4.13H) from the list.
14. Click on the Margins Tab
15. Under Orientation; select "Portrait".
16. Under Margins; set margins to minimum values or to your desired values.
17. Click on OK.
Tip: If you should get a warning that one or
more margins are set outside the printable
area of the page..."; Click on the Fix
button.
18. Insert the items (text, graphics, etc..) you
want on the envelope.
19. Click on File, Print
20. Make sure the "M Series Driver" is
showing as your printer name.
21. Click on the "Properties" button.
22. Under the General Tab set the following:
Orientation = Portrait
Print Quality = 12 IPS (normal) or 6 IPS (best)
23. Click on OK to exit from the "M Series Driver Properties" window.
24. When you are ready to print, Click on OK to send the document(s) to the printer.
