Level 0) logical drives. The Unreadable Sectors Log can store up to 1000 unreadable sectors.
When the Unreadable Sectors Log reaches 1000 entries, the following conditions apply:
If new unreadable sectors are detected during reconstruction, the reconstruction fails, and
no entry is logged.
If new unreadable sectors are detected during I/O, the I/O fails, and no entry is logged.
View the Unreadable Sectors Log
Use this procedure to view the Unreadable Sectors Log:
1. Select the Advanced  Recovery  Unreadable Sectors menu command to view the
Unreadable Sectors Log as shown in Figure 14-155.

2. The Unreadable Sectors Log has two main panes:
– The left-hand pane lists identifying information about each logical drive that contains an
unreadable sectors.
– The right-hand pane lists details about each unreadable sector on the logical drive that
is selected in the left-hand pane.
3. The five buttons along the bottom have these functions:
– Select All: Select at least one unreadable sector in the right window pane, and then
click this button to select all unreadable sectors in the log.
– Clear: Clicking this button will clear all unreadable sectors that have been selected.
– Save As: Clicking this button will save the Unreadable Sectors log to a *.txt file.
– Close: This closes the Unreadable Sectors Log
– Help: This opens the relevant section of the DS Storage Manager online help.
Note: The unreadable sectors log is also contained in the CASD support bundle.
