5. To locate drive expansion enclosures that are connected to a drive channel, use the
Locate option to physically locate and identify all drive expansion enclosures that are
attached to that particular drive channel. An LED comes on for each drive expansion
enclosure in the storage subsystem that is connected to the particular drive channel.
Select either Drive Channel 1 or 2 in the Summary view and click the Locate button. If you
select Drive Channel 2 the window shown in Figure 14-119will be displayed. Once you
have located the drive enclosures on the Drive Channel you can click OK to stop the LEDs
blinking.

14.11 Troubleshooting - Run Diagnostics

You can use the controller diagnostics function to run various internal tests that verify if a
selected controller is functioning correctly.
Important: The controller is not available for I/O when the controller diagnostics are
running.
Note: You should normally only use this option only under the guidance of your IBM
Customer Support representative
Follow these steps to use the run the controller diagnostics:
1. Open the Physical tab of the DS Storage Manager (Subsystem Management) and select
the controller that you want to test (either controller A or controller B). Then select the
Advanced  Troubleshooting  Run Diagnostics  Controller menu command as
shown in Figure 14-120 on page 416. In this example, we have selected controller A.
