About Your Telephone Display and Dial Pad

Your telephone's display helps you process calls, identify callers and customize features.
Display Types
The 22- and 34-Button Display Telephones have a three-line alphanumeric display that shows the date and time, feature
status messages, and a row of soft key definitions.
The 34-Button Super Display Telephone has a nine-line alphanumeric display that also shows the date and time and feature
status messages. Additionally, it has six more rows for the extensive soft keys.
The 34-Button Display and 34-Button Super Display Telephones have a backlit display; the 22-Button Telephones do not.
Display Contrast Control
While your phone is idle, you can press
"remembers" your settings.
Contrast Control Preset
Use the Contrast Control Preset to set the default contrast level.
Backlit Display Brightness Control Presets
You can preset the default idle backlight brightness and active backlight brightness for your 34-Button Display or 34-Button
Super Display Telephone display. You set one brightness level for when your phone is idle and another for when it is
active. The 22-Button Telephone doesn't have a backlit display so the idle and active presets are not available.
Automatic Backlight with Ambient Light Sensitivity Adjustment
The 34-Button Display and 34-Button Super Display Telephones have a Light Sensitivity Adjustment which you can
optionally set. In a brightly lit room (and when you are busy on the phone) the display will stay at its maximum backlit
level. If the room light dims or goes out, the display will automatically change to the minimum backlit level.
Turn the sensitivity adjustment down for a bright room and up for a dimly lit room.
Illuminated Dial Pad
The 34-Button Display and 34-Button Super Display Telephones also have an illuminated dial pad. The dial pad lights
when you are using the phone and goes dark when the phone is idle. You'll be sure to find dial pad illumination helpful if
you work in a difficult lighting area.
