To perform a directory search:
If your phone is idle, press the DIRECTORY menu key, then press the menu key

for the desired directory (IC DIRECTORY, OUTSIDE DIR, or FEATURE DIR).
If placing a call, choose between OUTSIDE DIR and IC DIRECTORY.
Enter letters or numbers (up to 10 characters) as described below:

Remain in alphanumeric mode (Message key lit): Press the keypad keys to
enter the desired characters. (Note that letters correspond to the letters
printed on keypad keys 1-9.) The number of times a key is pressed deter-
mines which character is entered. For example, 77776444844 would enter
"SMITH." When adjoining characters are located under the same key, press

66337777 would enter "JONES." Press

Change to numeric mode (Message key unlit): Press the keypad keys to enter
an extension number. Press
Press the SEARCH menu key to begin the search. If desired, you can use the
