Overlay and Watermark Tab

While the ability to selection of overlay and
watermarking is a fairly standard feature on
digital MFPs and production printers, the
stamp/overlay feature merits special mention
in one area, distribution numbering.
This feature adds a unique number to each
printed set. This is a valuable tracking
mechanism as it can be used to trace leaks
of confidential documents back to an
individual.
For example, a pharmaceutical firm has a
meeting to report on the progress of a test
drug. Each member of the meeting is given a
copy of the progress report which they have
to sign for against the numbered set they
were provided with. If the contents of the
report are later found to have been provided
to a rival pharmaceutical firm, the leaked
document can be traced back to the original
signatory.

Quality

Under the quality tab on the PCL driver
operators have the ability to adjust contrast
levels, choose between a course or fine dot
pattern, print in draft or toner save mode and
add smoothing technology, available in three
levels.

Image Quality

We found no major issues in relation to
image quality during our testing. While not
quite matching up to the very high output
standards of an offset press, the quality
should be sufficient to satisfy most
commercial print usage.
