Print on Demand

A popular function in CRD/
back office environments is
the storing of commonly
used jobs on a print shop
device hard drive in post
ripped format. The job can
be recalled at a moment's
notice and reprinted without
going through the
reprocessing and ripping of
the job again.
The Océ VarioPrint 1105
comes with a
large hard drive which can
store jobs sent from the
scanner at the device, or
from the desktop via the printer driver.
Jobs can be stored in a general public folder
or locked away in a private folder/box with a
PIN protecting access to the documents
from unauthorized users.
Within the Store menu on the touch screen,
operators can choose between three
different storage options; Scanner to HDD,
Scanner to PC, and HDD to PC.
Scanner to HDD stores a
hard copy job directly into a
folder (public or private) on
the hard drive of the device
itself. Users can allocate a
personalized name to the
job, making retrieval easier.
Scanner to PC allows users
to direct a job straight to a
PC directly linked to the
device.
HDD to PC allows users to
send jobs, which had been
previously stored on the hard
drive of the device, again to
a locally connected PC.
