Basic Handset Operation
Using a Headset
The Deluxe Telephone has a standard 2.5 millimeter headset jack. When Headset Mode is
selected the Speaker button is used to activate/deactivate the headset.
You can assign a Feature Button with the Headset feature code and use the button to turn
the headset on and off.
While using the headset, you can pick up Intercom Voice calls by pressing the Speaker but‐
ton on the side of the Handset.
Incoming CO line calls can be answered by pressing the Speaker button on the side of the
Handset or by pressing the specific CO line button.
Features like background music and muted ring continue to operate in the same manner
while you are on‐hook.
Pressing the Talk button will disconnect calls when Headset Mode is active.
Activate Headset Mode
While the Handset is idle, press
Headset Mode (if programmed). The display indicates the new status
Deactivate Headset Mode
While the Handset is idle, press
with the Headset Mode code (if programmed). The display indicates the new status
Use the Headset to Place a Call
1. While the Handset is idle, press the Speaker button, a Feature Button, or an outside line
button. You will hear Intercom dial tone, outside line dial tone, or Intercom ring‐back
tone, depending on the function invoked.
2. Press the Talk button on the front of the Handset to disconnect the current call.
