Verifying the
communication
Follow the instructions below to verify the communication by
sending a print job to the AXIS 5470e:

AXISPR1 is an example. Refer to Creating a Printer Device Description, on
page 48 for details.
1. Type WRKCFGSTS *DEV AXISPR1 on the AS/400 command line
and press Enter to display the previously created printer device.

3. Press F5 to refresh the display. The printer device should now be

4. Start the printer writer by typing STRPRTWTR AXISPR1 on the
AS/400 command line. Press Enter.
5. Press F5 to refresh the display. The printer device should now be
ACTIVE/WRITER
6. Direct a printout to this printer device. A successful printout
verifies the communication link between the AS/400 and the
AXIS 5470e.
The AXIS 5470e is now ready for printing in the AS/400 environment.
