# at a beginning of a line is interpreted as a comment even if there is a keyword

in the line.
The value following a keyword begins after an '=' until the end of the line. If

no value is found, an error message is displayed on the controller panel LCDs.
Ethernet data must be in dot format notation (x.y.z.w).

SMB names are truncated at 15 characters and must be only

composed by space, '_', '-' and alphanumeric characters.
Send the configuration file to the Océ 5250
Press and hold the left and right keys on the printer operator panel.

Switch the Océ 5250 on.

The Océ 5250 is in 'download' mode. The text on the display reads 'F/WARE
OR CONFIG DOWNLOAD WAITING FOR DATA.
Connect the host PC with the configuration file on it to the Centronics port of

the Océ 5250.
Start up the host PC.

Start up the DOS prompt via the 'Start' menu.

Browse to the directory where you made the configuation file.

Enter the following DOS command: 'COPY /B [YOURFILENAME] LPT1'.

A message appears in the display: 'CONFIG DOWNLOAD IN PROGRESS'.
The Océ 5250 reads the configuration file.
After the configuration file is processed the following message appears in the

display: 'CONFIG DONE PLEASE TURN OFF/ON...'.
Turn the Océ 5250 off and on.
Errors
The Océ 5250 does not store the content of the configuration file if the
configuration file contains errors. The display shows the following message:
'CONFIG FAILED ERROR #151: PLEASE POWER OFF/ON...'.
If the controller is not able to store the parameters from the configuration file,
the display shows the following message: 'CONFIG FAILED ERROR #152:
IMPOSSIBLE TO STORE PARAMETERS, PLEASE POWER OFF/ON...'.
In this case, start the machine in normal mode. This is when 'READY' in the
display appears. Then power off the machine and try to download the
configuration file.
