Input Channels - DEQ Dynamics Screen
one of the main reasons for the transparency and musicality of the DEQ at low
compression ratios.
Envelope shaping
The Dynamic Equaliser has automated time constants which track both the
nature of the programme, and the settings of the crossover filters and the
Equaliser associated with DEQ. The user may however influence this
automation using the Attack and Release parameters, which effectively scale
the automatic parameters.
Automatic time constants use a combined program related attack time setting
and a two-part program related release time setting. The two part program
dependent release provides a fast release to restore non-compressing gain as
soon as the event has passed and a much longer one following release to avoid
rapid gain change effects.

Atk (Attack)

"Fast", "Med", "Slow"
Sets the attack time of the dynamic equaliser so that the response time to
increasing input signal levels can be adjusted.

Rel (Release)

"Fast", "Med", "Slow"
Specifies the release time of the dynamic equaliser so that the response time to
decreasing input signal levels may be adjusted.
The dynamics bargraph shows the operation of the compressor, either
compressing or expanding the signal dependant on the settings of the DEQ
equaliser cut or boost settings. The bar in this display will not appear unless
some degree of cut or boost has been applied.
