Utilities - Alignment Assistant
Notes
1.
Which parameters get overwritten?
Some parameters get overwritten by running Alignment Assistant.
If you have valuable settings in place it is recommended that you
save the current setup to a new program location before
activating Alignment Assistant.
Depending on what options you activate when starting Alignment
Assistant the following parameters get overwritten:
•
Output Delays
•
Input Delays
•
Polarities
Any bands that are omitted from alignment will have their settings
preserved.
2.
Linking
Stereo linking and delay linking have no effect on Alignment
Assistant. Every band that is selected for alignment will have its
parameters individually measured and set.
3.
Polarity in 2nd & 3rd order systems
Alignment Assistant will not try to evaluate the correct polarity for
crossover alignments which require polarity inversion, such as
2nd order and some 3rd order alignments. If the polarity option is
enabled, the polarity of the measured bands will be corrected on
an individual basis. If you wish to make corrections for crossover
alignments which require other polarity settings then these should
be applied manually.
4.
Effects of band EQ & dynamic EQ
Alignment assistant will accurately take into account the effects of
crossover settings, but will not account for any equalisation you
have put in place on the output bands.
It is assumed that any output equalisation has been applied
deliberately and that you require the phase effects that the
equalisation will produce. If not, then more accurate results will
be obtained if input equalisation is used instead of output
equalisation.
The same applies for Dynamic Equalisation, although more so,
since the phase relationship will change dynamically depending
on signal level, causing Alignment Assistant to produce results
which are only correct at the level of the stimulus.
