If the failed disk is a component of a
hardware RAID array (with
redundancy), follow the RAID
controller vendor's documentation.
If the vendor supports replacing
devices with power on (hot swap
bays), there are no further steps to
perform in this procedure.
If the failed disk is NOT a component
of a hardware RAID array (with local
IOP data redundancy), continue
with step 4.

Notes
You can perform a local rebuild using RAID controller
features, and there is nothing further to do. (In some
systems, I/O performance may be degraded during
the rebuild.)
