Expansion cards

The server has two expansion slots on the riser card that can be used for a
variety of expansion cards. These slots support 32-bit, 33 MHz PCI cards. Both
slots will hold full-length cards. The expansion slots on the system board are
not used.

Replacing an expansion card

You must install an expansion card in slot 1 before you can install an
expansion card in slot 2.
To replace an expansion card:

Set any jumpers and switches on the replacement card, if required in the
card instructions.

Turn off the server, then disconnect the power cord and all external
peripheral devices.

Open the case. (See "Opening the case" on page 18 and "Preventing static
electricity discharge" on page 17.)

Disconnect any cables attached to the card.

Loosen the captive thumbscrew that holds the expansion slot cover
bracket in place and remove the expansion slot cover bracket.
