In the EDIT LIST screen, select the sub clip whose
audio level you want to adjust (multiple selections
possible).

In the Edit Menu, select Audio Level, and then press
the PUSH SET knob.
A spin box for adjusting the audio level appears.
The original audio level of the sub clip is displayed as
"0dB".

Do one of the following to change the audio level.
• Press the PUSH SET knob.
• Press the V/MARK1 button or v/MARK2 button.
• Put the shuttle/jog dial into jog mode (JOG
indicator: lit), and then turn the dial.
You can adjust the level in units of 1 dB over the range
–∞ (silent), –80dB to 0dB to 12dB.

Press the PUSH SET knob.

With "OK" selected, press the PUSH SET knob.
The AUTO EDIT button begins to flash.

Press the AUTO EDIT button.
This confirms the change in the audio level.

Press the PREVIEW button to play the edit segment
and check the audio level.

Editing Operations
To perform audio split editing
The following figure shows an example of a sub clip
C0002 with the audio In point trimmed to +2 seconds after
the video In point. In this kind of audio split editing, you
can obtain effects in which the audio begins up to ± 2
seconds sooner or later than the video.
Note
When EDIT PRESET in the Edit Menu is set to "Clip", it
is not possible to perform other editing operations in
segments that have been audio split edited.

In the EDIT LIST screen, select the sub clip for which
you want to perform audio split editing.
To operate in the Clip List (Trim) screen
After performing step 1, press the RECALL button to
switch to the Clip List (Trim) screen.
Note
When multiple sub clips are selected, only the sub clip
at the cursor position is the target of the editing. (The
sub clips that are not targeted are deselected.)

With the GOTO button held down, press the + TRIM
button or the – TRIM button. Or, with the GOTO
button held down, turn the PUSH SET knob.
The audio In point is trimmed by one frame, and the
AUTO EDIT button begins to flash.
Note
In the Clip List (Trim) screen, it is not possible to
change the In point of a sub clip that has a voice-over
specification.

Press the AUTO EDIT button.
The results of the audio split editing are confirmed.
To move the position of voice data
Use the following procedure to move the In point of the
voice data of a sub clip. You can move the data to any
position from the first frame to the last frame +1 of the sub
clip.
