Monitoring STP
The Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) eliminates Layer 2 loops in networks, by selectively blocking
some ports and allowing other ports to forward traffic, you can configure based on global (bridge)
and local (port) parameters. PowerConnect devices support standard STP as described in the IEEE
802.1D specification.
To view current STP information for a stack unit, select Monitor > STP. From the STP display, select
stack unit ID from the drop-down list, and click Display. The following information appears.

Monitor - Management port realtime information
The status of the port.
The MAC address of the port.
Shows whether the actual speed matches the configured speed. If the configured
speed is set to Auto, then the speed is provided.
The physical type of connector.
