Installation of Trunk Interface Modules
1. CAUTION - While installing, ensure that you wear a ground wrist strap that is connected to a
suitable grounding point.
2. Remove the three fixing screws on the rear of cover.
3. Turn the unit over and remove the four fixing screws from the base.
4. Slide the cover from the unit.
5. Remove the two blanking plate securing screws and remove blanking plate.
6. Insert the trunk module and secure with the two screws.
7. Mount the trunk module in position as shown below and secure with the two snap-in spacers
(except for PRI E1/R2).
8. For CALA only: On the PRI E1/R2 coaxial module, use the shorting blocks (A) to connect Rx1 to
GND, Tx1 to GND and/or Rx2 to GND, Tx2 to GND as required. Connect the earthing strap
spade end (B) to the spade connection on the board and the other end (C) to the chassis with the
long securing screw (both of which are supplied with the kit).
9. Where required, fit the functional ground (see Functional Ground).
10. Replace cover and secure with the seven fixing screws.
