7-4. Changing the machine oil

CAUTION :
Turn OFF the power before starting the work so as to prevent accidents caused by abrupt start of the
sewing machine.

After a long period of usage, cartridge filter 1
may become clogged wth dust.
If the machne s left n ths state, the drty ol

may fail to pass through cartridge filter 1 , and
the machne may wear out abnormally, or a se-

zure may result.
※ Cartridge filter
Cartridge filter 1 should normally be checked
once every sx months, and cleaned or replaced
accordngly.

How to inspect the cartridge filter and replace it.
1)
Remove first oil discharging screw 2 .
)
Remove screws 3 , and lft top cover 4 just
above untl t comes off.
If top cover 4 is shifted sideward, the oil
amount pointer bar and the cartridge filter
may be damaged.

Remove cartridge filter 1 and check t. If the
filter is found to be abnormal, clean the relevant
components, or replace cartridge filter 1 .

Re-insert cartridge filter 1 nto ts proper pos-
ton and return the cover. Do not forget to put
back the setscrews and tghten them up.

Use JUKI MACHINE OIL 8 n the machne
head.

To change the oil, first drain the oil out by un-

screwng screw 1 on the tp of the ol dran hose
connected to the ol pan. At ths tme, remove
the cover from the ol nlet hole on top of the ma-
chne head.

Refer to "4-. Lubrcaton" for how to lubrcate
the machne.
