3. Inspecting and replacing the oil filter

Open the front cover. Remove setscrews 1 . Remove
throat plate 2 . Clean up the slts n the throat plate,
grooves n the feed dog and surroundng area.
After cleaning, fix throat plate 2 wth setscrews 1 .
In case of the new sewng machne, replace the lubr-
catng ol (JUKI GENUINE OIL 8) wth new one after
usng t for approxmately one month. Then replace the
lubrcatng ol every sx months.
) Set a contaner to receve the lubrcatng ol under
dran screw 1 .
2) Remove dran screw 1 . The lubrcaton ol s draned.
3) After the dran, wpe out the ol and attach the dran
screw 1 .
Normal lubrcaton cannot be performed f dust collects
in oil filter 1 . Inspect t every 6 months.
1) Remove oil filter cap 2 , and draw out oil filter 1 to
nspect t.
2) When oil filter 1 s clogged wth dust, replace t wth
a new one.
3) After the replacement, fix the filter cap 2 wth
screws 3 .
When removing the oil filter cap, lubricating
oil collected in the filter will leak out. So, be
careful.
