7-12. Adjusting the belt tension

The belt tenson should be adjusted by turnng the
tenson adjust nuts to change heght of the motor,
so that the belt snks down by about 5 mm (9.8N)
when t s depressed by band at the center of the belt
span.
If the belt tenson s not adequate, the sewng ma-
chne may not rotate wth consstency at the low- to
15mm(9.8N)
medum-speed operaton.

Loosen two setscrews n the front cover and
open the cover after checkng that the power
has been turned OFF.
Remove connectors CN30, CN3, CN33, CN36,
CN37 and CN38 and remove the setscrew at-
tached to the ground wre of CTL crcut board.
(Connector Nos. depend on the specifications.)
Draw up the front cover oblquely at the poston
where the front cover s oblquely tlted by ap-
proxmately 45 degrees, and remove the cover.
Remove the control box from the motor.
Remove four setscrews n the bottom cover and
remove the bottom cover.
Replace 3.5A F fuse or A F fuse on PWR
crcut board wth a fuse of the same capacty
suppled as accessores.
Fx the bottom cover as before wth the set-
screws, and press the front cover to the bottom
cover from the poston where the front cover s
oblquely tlted by approxmately 45 degrees for
assemblng.
Attach the connectors and the ground wre
whch have been removed.
Close the front cover as before and fix it with the
setscrews whle payng attenton to pnchng of
the cords.
The belt can increase in length as a result
of use. Be sure to periodically check and
adjust the belt tension appropriately.
