Getting Started

Using the Interface

To use Command View NAS:
1. Start a web browser on a computer on the network.
2. Enter the IP address of the NAS 8000 in the address or location field. Note

View NAS, ensure that the method used to resolve the system name to an IP address
returns the IP address for the management port of the NAS 8000. Alternatively, you
can use the IP address of the management port. See
Management Port
After the initial configuration, the Identity page appears:

— The first time you access Command View NAS, the Configuration Wizard
guides you through configuration.
— If you have trouble connecting, try enabling the browser's option to
bypass the proxy server for local addresses.
— If you do not have the appropriate Java plug-in, a web page appears that
will help you obtain the plug-in. See
Java™ Plug-In
on page 47.
If you enter a computer name instead of the IP address to access the Command
on page 65 for more information.
