Stop the engine and disengage drive to attachment
- before refueling;
- beforeremovingthe grass catcher;
- before makingheight adjustmentunlessadjustment
can be made from the operator'sposition.
Reducethe throttlesettingduringengine run-outand, if
the engine is providedwith a shut-offvalve, turnthe fuel
offat the conclusionof mowing.
IV. Maintenance and Storage
Keepall nuts,boltsand screwstightto be sure theequip
ment is in safe workingcondition.
Never store the equipmentwith petrol in the tank inside
a buildingwhere fumes may reach an open flame or
spark.
Allowthe engine to cool beforestoringin any enclosure.
To reducethe fire hazard, keepthe engine, silencer,bat-
tery compartmentand petrel storagearea free of grass,
leaves,or excessivegrease.
Check the grass catcher frequently for wear or dete-
rioration.
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
If the fuel tank has to be drained, this should be done
outdoors.
On multi-bladed machines,takecareas rotating one blade
can cause otherbladesto rotate.
When machine is to be parked, stored or left unattended,
lower the cutting means unless a positive mechanical lock
is used.
WARNING:
Always disconnect spark plug wire and
place wire where it cannot contact spark plug in or-
der to prevent accidental starting when setting up,
transporting,
adjusting or making repairs.
