When to use Set up a hotline connection after you have edited the Devices file.
Procedure Use the following steps to set up a hotline connection.
Step Action
1 If necessary, enter the following command to change to
the uucp directory:
cd /etc/uucp
2 Use a UNIX editor to open the Dialers file.
Example: vi Dialers
3 At the end of the file, enter the following hotline string as
one line of text.
hotline "" ""\K\r\r\r\d
in:-\K\r\r\r\d-in:-\K\r\r\r\d-in: \d
This string:
Specifies the hotline dialing option
Establishes a hotline for all the tty devices you
added to the Devices file
4 Write and quit the file.
5 Go to To Administer the Proxy Agent.
