3. At the remote client, exit pcAnywhere and start the client application (this
should be done without disconnecting the client modem; set up the modem
so that it does not disconnect on dropped DTR (AT&D0) and set up the
client application to use a direct serial connection, not a modem).
4. Your client and server application can now interact as if over a direct serial
connection. Note that Integrated RA will now also monitor the server's
management port for a disconnect or for 5 minutes of inactivity on the data
receive line. In either case, the serial port will be switched back to
Integrated RA, and the modem will wait for a new administrator login.

0. Disconnect

When a remote management session is over, you can end the communications
session with the server by choosing Disconnect from the Integrated RA
Management Program main menu. It is important that you disconnect when your
tasks are complete, otherwise the modem will remain tied up for the terminal
session and Integrated RA will be unable to alert administrators of server
problems.
NOTE To guard against a connection being left open unintentionally,
Integrated RA automatically disconnects the remote client from
the host after a user-configurable span of inactivity.
Using SNMP Server Management Applications
with Integrated RA
Installation of the Integrated RA SNMP agent and Management Information Base
(MIB) permits compiling and querying of the MIB under any management
platform that supports SNMP, including HP OpenView, HP TopTools, and Novell
NMS. When compiled, the MIB tells the SNMP Manager which Integrated RA
device variables are available for querying or setting.
NOTE
Integrated RA supplies SNMP Agents for Novell NetWare and
Microsoft Windows NT and 2000 servers only.
