Chapter 6
NOTE
The Shutdown Agent is not supported on the OS/2 and Banyan
operating systems. If the Shutdown Agent is not running,
Graceful Reboot is equivalent to Hard Reset, and Graceful
Shutdown is equivalent to Power Down with a timeout of a few
minutes.
Type a reset option number to begin the operation.
Selecting one of the first four options (<Ctrl-Alt-Del>, Hard Reset, Power Cycle
or Power UP) redirects server console I/O to the remote client allowing you to
view any system or NOS startup messages that appear on the server monitor.
Press Ctrl-B to relinquish control of the server console and return to the menu. See
the previous section, "Redirecting the Console," for more information on
accepting and relinquishing control of the host console.

5. Reboot to Utility Partition

Integrated RA automates the task of launching and running previously installed
DOS utilities on the server from the remote client. This feature is especially useful
for administrators who need to perform diagnostics, or to configure the server
from a remote location.
The DOS utilities are installed on the server's Utility Partition during setup using
the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM included with your server.
If a Utility Partition is installed on the server, when you choose Reboot to Utility
Partition from the Integrated RA Management Program main menu, Integrated RA
reboots the server. Press F12 to load the Utility Partition.
Besides DOS utilities, the Utility Partition includes Remote Assistant Utilities
which provide several functions. These include:
Remote file transfer. Transfer files from your remote client to your server's
Utility Partition (such as the latest system BIOS code). You can use HP resources,
such as the HP Support BBS or HP FTP server to obtain the latest system files,
then transfer them to each of your servers, remotely.
Access to the Integrated RA Configuration Utility. See chapter 3 for details on
using the Integrated RA Configuration Utility.
Updating Integrated RA firmware. This feature allows you to remotely or
locally update the Integrated RA application firmware.
