NetServer Navigator Utility Partition that will store a range of utilities that will
allow you to:
Update the system BIOS
Run DiagTools diagnostic software
Integrated RA utilities
Run troubleshooting utility
Run HP Disk Array utilities
The Navigator program remembers where you left off and returns you to either the
Guided or Custom Setup configuration screen.
NOTE Utility Partition installation or updating is disabled in the SCO
UNIX environment. See the next section "Accessing DOS
Utilities on Servers without a Utility Partition."
To install or update a DOS Utility Partition on your HP NetServer:
From Navigator, run the Utility Partition Install/Update utility. Navigator
copies system files and, based on the requirements of your system,
performs the necessary operation (either installation or updating). This
operation may include a system reboot.
NOTE
A Utility Partition requires 32 MB of un-partitioned hard disk
space.
After completion of the Partitioning operation, Navigator takes you back to where
you left off to finish software installation.
Using DOS File Transfer on Servers Without a
Utility Partition
If you did not set up an HP Utility Partition during the initial setup of your HP
NetServer, or you have SCO UNIX installed on your server, you need to have a
bootable DOS partition in order to use Integrated RA's File Transfer features.
After you have created a DOS partition, you can manually copy Integrated RA
files to your DOS partition.
