6 Using Integrated RA to Manage
Server Operations
Once pcAnywhere (or a third-party terminal emulation program) is running on the
remote client, a qualified administrator (configured in the Integrated RA
Configuration Utility) can log into the server and begin using Integrated RA to
observe server operations and otherwise configure or manage the server.

Using Integrated RA's Management Features

Using pcAnywhere you can access the Integrated RA Management Program
options that allow you to view information, configure remote communications and
execute commands remotely.
Keep in mind that you can perform many of these same management and
configuration tasks using the Integrated RA Configuration Utility that you run on
the server. For more information on using the Integrated RA Configuration Utility,
see Chapter 3.
To access the Integrated RA, first start a remote management session using
pcAnywhere.
To initiate a remote management session:
1. From the remote client, run pcAnywhere located under Programs from the
Start menu.
2. From the button bar, click the Call Online Service button.
3. Double-click the remote control icon you created for your HP NetServer
(see Chapter 5).
4. Enter the password you defined in the HP NetServer's Integrated RA
Configuration Utility.
When the server accepts the password (and if no dial-back number was specified),
the Integrated RA in the server starts up and displays its main menu.
Logging In with Dial-Back
If a dial-back number was specified for an administrator, the message "Hang up
and prepare for dial-back" appears when the server accepts the password. In this
case, disconnect your modem and place the device in auto-answer mode. (In
