Use the Ping Test page for a machine to measure how long it takes an echo packet to travel back and
forth on the network.
Click Start to begin a test. Click Stop to end a test.
Ping test
Performing a ping test displays the following test results:
Packet No.
Shows the number of data packets sent from one machine to another up to this point
in the test.
Round trip time (ms)
The time is expressed in milliseconds.
Data Transfer test
NOTE:

Select the data transfer type you want to test:
Database
Simulates data transfer during a backup job of a database. The local machine sends a large
packet; the remote machine sends small replies acknowledging receipt of the data.
