This process only inserts the media into the Virtual Library you will still have to import the
media into the database
1 1.
This final step is only required, if the Data Protector Express catalog and the newly added
VTCs are out of synch.
The Virtual Library will need to read the new VTCs and (re-)importing the media into the Data
Protector Express catalog using an import job. Once this is complete, the user can restore
data from the VTCs just as before.

Previous D2D2Any policy configuration needs to be reestablished manually by the user, as this
information is stored in the control files that have been lost.

Known Limitations

1.
The number of gigabytes consumed by imported VTCs will not limit Virtual Library Recovery;
however, the installed license key, might limit the size of a Virtual Library. In case the size of the
VTCs is higher than the license key defines, the Virtual Library will go offline.
2.
By mistake the same VTCs could be imported into different Virtual Libraries of the same domain.
There is no protection to do this, yet the actual import of those VTCs will cause a problem in the
Data Protector Express database.
Therefore it is good practice to keep the VTCs of different Virtual Libraries in different Storage
Groups.
