To configure automatic upgrade
1.
Display the Administration menu and select Configure Backup Server.
2.
Select Client Upgrade Options.
3.
Select the check box to Enable automatic upgrade of clients.
4.
If you want the client to downgrade to an earlier version, you must explicitly select Allow downgrade
if older build installed on domain server. Otherwise, the client will only automatically upgrade to a
newer version.
5.
Set the Max number of active upgrade downloads value to the maximum number of clients that can
be upgraded simultaneously. This allows you to limit the number of concurrent updates based on
your network traffic and bandwidth.
During an automatic client upgrade, the installer will close any running Data Protector Express
Administrator and Quick Access taskbar icon. The client is marked as offline during the upgrade process.
If an automatic client upgrade fails, the upgrade will not be retried again unless the service is restarted.
An upgrade might fail if there are running processes that cannot be killed or there are permission
restrictions on the client.

Permissions

You can assign access permissions to users for any object in the catalog.
NOTE:
Permissions can be granted from either the property page of the catalog object or the property page of the
user or group. Either way, the permissions appear on the appropriate object's Permissions page.
For example, if a user is granted permissions to the C: volume from the Permissions page on his property
page, the Permissions page on the property page of the C: volume will list this user as a user who has
permissions. Alternatively, if this user is granted permissions from the property page of the C: volume, the
appropriate permissions will appear on his Permissions page.
NOTE:
A user has direct permissions only to those objects listed on that user's Permissions page. Any and
all other effective permissions to other objects are calculated through inherited permissions, through
equivalencies or through groups.
