You import files created in other applications using the Import command
from the File menu. The file formats that PaperPort can import from
other applications are described in the following table.

Format Description
PaperPort file A file previously saved in PaperPort for
(.MAX) Windows or PaperPort for Macintosh.
Windows Bitmap A format used for displaying and storing
(.BMP) Windows images.
PC Paintbrush A format commonly used for paint applications.
(.PCX)
Windows images A format for multipage PCX files.
(.DCX)
Joint Photographic An international standard for the compression
Experts Group of digital photographic images.
(.JPG)
Graphics A popular format for images on CompuServe.
Interchange
Format (.GIF)
Tag Image File A format that works well for storage and

graphic arts applications. TIFF also works well
between different platforms, such as Microsoft
Windows and Macintosh. PaperPort supports
single- and multipage TIFF.
