The icons at the bottom of the PaperPort
Desktop View that represent applications
installed on your computer, such as
electronic fax software.
An application installed on your computer
that you can use with PaperPort. For
example, you can use OCR software to
translate a PaperPort item into text.
An Annotation tool designed for adding text
to preprinted forms scanned into PaperPort.
You can search for words in a mark-up by
using the Find command.
Optical character recognition, the technology
of translating characters in a graphic image of
a printed page into machine-readable
characters that you can edit using a word-
processing program.
Object linking and embedding, an industry-
standard method for inserting an object into
a document. The object retains a connection,
or link, with its original application so that
double-clicking on the object in the
document opens the object's original
application.
A PaperPort term that refers to a one-sheet
item or one sheet of a stack.
The elevated vertical lines on the PaperPort
scanner that act as guides to inserting a page.
