On the Macintosh, preferences are in the Library/Preferences folder in your user folder.
For information about locating your Macintosh user folder, see Apple Help.
On the Macintosh, most Fireworks user-specific configuration files are stored in a
different folder, your user-specific Application Support folder. The Fireworks 8
Preferences file is an exception.
About reinstalling Fireworks
When you uninstall or reinstall Fireworks, your user-specific configuration files are left
untouched on most systems. If you want to reinstall Fireworks using the default settings, you
must manually delete your user-specific configuration files before reinstalling the application.
Your user-specific configuration files are located in your user-specific Application Data
(Windows) or Application Support (Macintosh) folder. For information on locating this
folder, see
"About user configuration files" on page
On Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT 4 systems, you will be asked during the
uninstall process if you want to remove preferences and user-specific configuration files.
Doing so will remove these files for all users on the system.
Viewing package contents (Macintosh
only)
On the Macintosh, Fireworks is installed in a format called the application program package.
This is a feature from Apple that allows applications to be installed in a self-contained
package.
The application package is where the Fireworks application file is stored, along with all default
configuration files that come with Fireworks. Package contents are hidden by default.
After you open the package, you'll notice a number of files and folders.
To show or hide the contents of the Fireworks application program package:
1.
Navigate to the location on your hard disk where you installed Fireworks.
2.
Control-click the Fireworks 8 icon and select Show Package Contents from the context
menu.
A new window opens displaying the package contents.
