Always insert the fax/modem card before using your
fax/modem software application. If you start the appli-
cation before inserting the fax/modem card, the applica-
tion typically does not find the card.

PC Card Modems

You can use a PC card modem with your NEC Versa to
communicate with others via fax, e-mail, or connect to an
online service or bulletin board.
Follow these steps to connect your system to a phone line.
Connect the telephone cable to the modem port.

Connect the other end of the telephone cable to the wall

Storage Cards

When you insert a memory or storage card in an NEC note-
book computer, it appears as a unique drive as long as the
system has an available interrupt for the card.

Interface Cards

You can connect most standard Small Computer System
Interface (SCSI) devices using the optional NEC PC card-
SCSI card. This PC card is also known as the Adaptec
SlimSCSI.

Many other kinds of PC cards are available to notebook
