Removing a Card

Follow these steps to remove a PC card in Windows 98.
Double click My Computer, double click Control Panel, and double click the PC

card icon or simply double click the PC card icon on the taskbar.
Select the PC card to remove, and select Stop.

The Windows operating system alerts you if any applications are still using the
card. If all applications using the card are closed, services for that card are shut
down. You receive a message saying that it is safe to remove the card.
Press the button on the side of the PC card in the slot.

In Windows NT, use SystemSoft's CardWizard to monitor the status of your system's
PC card activity. Access CardWizard via the taskbar icon or via the Programs menu.

PC Card Modems

You can use a PC card modem with your NEC Versa to communicate with others via
fax, email, or connect to an online service or bulletin board. Depending on the PC card
modem that you purchase, you may have to install PC card drivers, prior to using the
card.
Follow these steps to use your PC card modem.
Connect an RJ-11 cable to the modem port on the card.

Connect the other end of the RJ-11 cable to an analog phone line.
