Congratulations on purchasing a 6-cell Extended-Life Battery (kit OP-570-74503) for your NEC
®
Versa
notebook computer! Install the Extended-Life Battery in the primary battery bay of the
computer, instead of the 3-cell primary battery that ships with your notebook computer. Like the
3-cell primary battery, the 6-cell Extended-Life Battery allows you to run your system when the
system is not plugged into a 120- or 240-volt, 50- or 60-Hz wall outlet. Use the 6-cell Extended-
Life Battery if you want to run your system on battery power for a longer time before you must
recharge the battery.

    The Extended-Life Battery is the primary battery in your system. Charge a primary battery and secondary battery (if any) by simply connecting your NEC system to an AC power source. To monitor the charging activity, observe the battery charging LED on the front of the system. The battery charging LED lights as follows: Lights amber when the Extended-Life Battery (primary battery) is charging.
