Hard Disk Drive — A removable hard disk drive ships
standard with your system and is located on the bottom
of the unit. Depending on your configuration, this bay
contains a 1.6, 2.1, 3.2 or 4.x-gigabyte (GB) hard disk
drive. (Chapter 4 describes how to remove this drive.)
The drive letter assigned to 1.6-GB and 2.1-GB hard
drives is C:. If your system ships with a 3.2 or 4.x-GB
drive, it is partitioned into two drives. Drive letters are
C: and D:.

NEC VERSA POWER SOURCES

The NEC Versa 5000 can be powered using different
sources, making it a truly portable system. Operate your
NEC Versa system just about anywhere using one of the
following power sources:
T
the AC adapter connected to an electrical wall outlet
(using AC power)
T
the optional PowerExtender Airplane and Automobile
Adapter
T
the battery pack.
Read the following sections for specific steps on powering
on the system.

Using the AC Adapter

Use the AC adapter and power cable that came with your
NEC Versa 5000 to run your computer on alternating cur-
rent (AC) power, or to recharge the battery pack. Use the
AC adapter whenever a wall outlet is nearby.
