20X CD-ROM READER
The NEC Versa 5000 comes with a 20X CD-ROM reader
that features the latest in CD-ROM technology. The CD-
ROM reader is assigned to drive letter E:. (The next letter
available depends on the size of your hard disk drive.)

Use the CD-ROM reader to load and start programs from a
compact disc (CD). You can also use the CD-ROM reader
to play your audio CDs (see "Playing Audio CDs" in this
chapter). The 20X CD-ROM reader is compatible with
Kodak Multi-session Photo CDs™ and industry data and
audio CDs.
The CD-ROM reader operates at different speeds depending
on whether the CD you are using contains data or music.
This allows you to get your data faster and to see smoother
animation and video.
