FREQUENCY SETTING
E When first applying power (CPU resetting)
Before first applying power, make sure all connections
required for your system are complete by referring to
[POWER]
section 2. Then, reset the transceiver using the fol-
lowing procedure.
Note: Resetting clears all programmed contents in
memory channels and returns all initial set mode and
quick set mode contents to their default values.
The transceiver displays
its initial frequency and
mode.
@ Make sure the transceiver power is OFF.
@While pushing [A] and [V], push [POWER] to turn
power ON.
e The internal CPU is reset.
¢The transceiver displays as shown at right when reset-
ting is complete.

If you can't figure out how to return to the [ii display:
While pushing [MENU], turn power ON.
E Initial settings
After resetting the transceiver, set controls and switch-
CCW: counterclockwise

Turn power ON, then check the display. If any of the
following indicators appear, turn them OFF as follows:
¢Tuning step indicators, w, (SSB, CW or RTTY):
Push [TS].
e MHz tuning step indicator, w, (FM, WFM or AM):
Push [TS].
e1 Hz frequency readout:
Push and hold [TS].
e Memory mode indicator, MEMO:
Use [(F-3)!!T'l] in the l2 display (p. 60).
e Split indicator, B30:
:
Use [(F-1)F'L] in the [11 display (p. 60).
