Trouble
Copies come out too dark.
Copies are dirty.
Copy image is askew.
Misfeed occurs frequently.
Copies are wrinkled.
Black or white lines appear
on the copy.

Is the copier in the auto exposure mode?
Is the copier in the manual exposure mode?
Is the platen or the original cover dirty?
Is the transfer roller contaminated?
Are the originals set correctly?
Is the paper set correctly in the
drawer[cassette]?
Is paper curled, folded or wrinkled?
Is there any misfed paper or loose scraps of
paper remaining inside the copier?
Is the separation in the paper feed section
dirty?
Is the electrostatic section dirty?
Procedure
To change the overall exposure, perform the
auto exposure adjustment.
Adjust the exposure to the correct degree
using the copy exposure adjustment keys.
To change the overall exposure, perform the
exposure adjustment for the each copy
quality mode.
Clean the platen and/or the original cover.
Open the front cover and pull and push back
in the cleaning shaft.
Clean the transfer roller with the cleaning
brush.
When setting originals on the platen, align
their edges with the correct original size
scale for their size.
When setting originals in the optional
Document Processor, adjust the original
insertion guides to the size of the originals
correctly.
Set paper properly.
Replace the paper with new paper.
Carry out the appropriate procedure to
remove the paper.
Clean the separator.
Open the front cover and pull and push back
in the cleaning shaft.
