Troubleshooting
Problem
Even if an exciter starts
transmitting, the linear amplifier
does not transmit or output
power.
The output power is too low.
The DPD function does not
work.
The DPD adjustment is not
possible.
TUNER
Even if
is held down
for 1 second, an Icom exciter
does not start transmitting for
linked manual tuning.
Possible cause
A coaxial cable is not connected, or
there is a bad connection with the cable.
The accessory cable is not connected,
or there is a bad connection with the
cable.
The RCA cable is not connected, or
there is a bad connection with the cable.
The RX side RF input connector
(
: Lights green) is selected.
The ALC level is not adjusted.
The protection circuit is activated.
An exciter with a maximum transmit
output power of less than 100 W is
connected.
The AC line voltage is low.
An exciter is transmitting at low transmit
output power.
The ALC level is not adjusted.
The antenna SWR is too high.
The linear amplifier circuit is turned OFF. Turn ON the linear amplifier circuit.
An Icom exciter that does not support
the function, or a non-Icom exciter is
connected.
An Icom exciter is not adjusted to use
the function.
The optional OPC-2501 coaxial cable
for dpd feedback is not connected to
[ALC 1] or [ALC 2].
The ALC level is not adjusted.
A dummy load is not used.
The DPD adjustment for an Icom exciter
alone is not completed.
The antenna SWR is too high.
The exciter firmware is not the latest
version.

MAINTENANCE
Solution
• Connect the cable to an exciter.
• Check the cable.
• Connect the cable to [ACC 1] or
[ACC 2].
• Check the terminals of the cable.
• Connect the cable to [SEND 1] or
[SEND 2].
• Check the cable.
Change the TX/RX side RF input
connector (
: Lights orange).
Adjust the ALC level.
Find and repair the cause of the
problem, and then push
PROTECT
deactivate the protection circuit.
Connect an exciter with a maximum
transmit output power of 100 W or
200 W.
Remove the other equipment used in
the same AC line as the linear amplifier.
Transmit at maximum transmit output
power.
Switch to the output power to be used
and manually adjust the ALC level.
• Adjust the SWR of the 50 Ω
antenna used in the frequency
band to transmit.
• Turn ON the internal antenna tuner.
Connect an Icom exciter that supports
the function.
Adjust the exciter to use the function.
• Connect the cable to [ALC 1] or
[ALC 2].
• Check the terminals of the cable.
Adjust the ALC level.
After replacing an antenna with
a dummy load, perform the DPD
adjustment.
After completing the DPD adjustment
for an Icom exciter alone, perform
the DPD linked adjustment with the
amplifier.
Check the cables used to connect
to the exciter, and then adjust the
antenna SWR to less than 1.5:1.
Update to the latest version that
supports linked manual tuning.
