For information on the various printer configuration options, refer
to the "Printer components and options" chapter of this guide.
The channel interface board, connected to a control unit, handles
all IPDS communications and handshaking with PSF on the host
when the NPS/IPS is receiving data over a channel. (It is not
used when the NPS/IPS is printing data using TCP/IP.)
