Preparing to Install - Workspace
We recommend that the clock will be configured with the facility's network as well as the clock's
internal network settings before mounting it on the wall. For doing so, there is a need to power the
clock and connect it to the facility's network either over a network cable or over Wi-Fi (depending
on the clock model).
*Disclaimer: DO NOT power the clock before reading the section "Preparing to Install -
VERY IMPORTANT - Before Powering the Clock."
The following steps will provide instructions on how to do so. However, since the clock is not mounted
on the wall yet, we recommend placing a large piece of cardboard or foam on a table (to prevent the
clock from being scratched). Once done, unpack the clock and place it lying flat on the table facing
downwards (in order to have access to its back panel) as shown in the below image.
Since initial configuration is typically done on a table, connecting a Wi-Fi based clock to the facility's
network is done over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi communication. However, hard-wired network clock(s) will
interface to the network over a network cable. If the clock's designated network cable does not
have enough slack from its intended installation location, allowing it to physically connect to the
clock for initial configuration (while the clock is on the table), then:
1. Attach the female RJ45 connector (provided with the clock) to the male RJ45 connector coming
out of the wall (designated for the clock). This will allow you to use another network cable as a
temporary extension reach the clock for programming before mounting.
2. Run another network cable from this female RJ45 connector to the clock (which will be placed
on a table), as shown below.
3. Proceed with initial programming.
