What to do in an emergency
WARNING
Battery
Keep all flames or sparks away from the
battery. The battery produces hydrogen
gas which can explode if exposed to
flame or sparks.
Jump-starting
1. Connect the jumper cables as shown.
僅 Positive (+) terminal of the flat bat -
tery (1) and the booster battery (2).
僅 Negative (-) terminal of the flat bat -
tery (3) and the grounding point
(4).
2. Start the vehicle with the booster bat -
tery for several minutes.
3. Try to start the vehicle with the flat
battery again.
4. If the vehicle starts, disconnect the
jumper cables as following:
僅 Negative (-) terminal of the booster
battery (3). Positive (+) terminal of
the booster battery (2). Flat battery
(1)
If the cause of your battery discharging
is not apparent, have your vehicle
checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
NOTICE
Make sure to connect one end of the
jumper cable to the negative terminal of
the booster battery, and the other end to
a metallic point (ground), far away from
the battery.
Push-starting
Your vehicle equipped with a type of
gear that should not be push-started.
WARNING
Tow Starting Vehicle
Never tow a vehicle to start it.
When the vehicle starts, the vehicle can
suddenly surge forward and cause a col -
lision with the tow vehicle.
