A: Check HBA system
When HBA is not working properly, the
'Check High Beam Assist system' warn -
ing message will appear and warning
light (
) will appear on the cluster.
Have the function inspected by an
authorized Kia dealer.
Limitations
HBA may not work properly in the fol -
lowing situations:
僅 Light from a vehicle is not detected
because of lamp damage, or because
it is hidden from sight, etc.
僅 Headlamps of a vehicle are covered
with dust, snow or water.
僅 A vehicle's headlamps are off but the
fog lamps are on, etc.
僅 There is a lamp that has a similar
shape as a vehicle's lamp.
僅 Headlamps have been damaged or
not repaired properly.
僅 Headlamps are not aimed properly.
僅 Driving on a narrow curved road,
rough road, uphill or downhill.
僅 Vehicle in front is partially visible on a
crossroad or curved road.
僅 There is a traffic light, reflecting sign,
flashing sign or mirror ahead.
僅 There is a temporary reflector or flash
ahead (construction area).
僅 The road conditions are poor such as
being wet, iced or covered with snow.
僅 A vehicle suddenly appears from a
curve.
僅 The vehicle is tilted from a flat tire or
is being towed.
僅 Light from a vehicle is not detected
because of smoke, fog, snow, etc.
NOTICE
僅 Depending on the instrument cluster
specification or theme, images or col -
ors may be displayed differently.
僅 For more details on the limitations of
the front view camera, refer to "For -
ward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)
(Sensor Fusion)" on page 7-4.
NOTICE
僅 HBA may not turn off high beams
every time. Thise function is for your
convenience only. It is the responsibil -
ity of the driver to always check the
road conditions and adjust headlights
appropriately, including by using the
manual controls. for your safety.
僅 It may not operate for 15 seconds
after the vehicle is started, or the front
view camera is initialized or restarted.
