Sterilization

Wrapped sterilization
The product must be cleaned/disinfected according to the table
"Overview of the parts to be reprocessed [→ 65]" prior to sterilization.
The contra-angle handpiece is lubricated according to section "Manual
maintenance [→ 68]".
The product is packed in packaging suitable for sterilization and
storage, e.g. paper/laminate packaging or ISO 11607 compliant
container.
Steam sterilizers that comply with the requirements of EN 13060,
Class B or EN 13060 Class S and are also suitable for the sterilization
of these products are approved.
Temperature: 134 °C (274 °F)
Holding time: 3 min
Overpressure 2.04 bar (29.59 psi)
Drying time: 30 minutes
NOTICE
Do not exceed 140 °C (284 °F) even during the drying phase.
After sterilizing
1. Remove the contra-angle handpiece and accessories from the
steam sterilizer immediately.
CAUTION! The contra-angle handpiece and accessories are hot.
Risk of burns!
NOTICE! Do not attempt to accelerate the cooling process by
immersing the contra-angle handpiece in cold water. This will
damage the contra-angle handpiece.
2. Store the contra-angle handpiece and accessories where they are
protected against contamination.
3. Sterilize again once the storage period has elapsed.

Inspection, maintenance and testing

Unless otherwise specified in these instructions for use, test all
components of the unit for proper functioning on a regular basis and
carry out a visual inspection for damage and wear. Replace damaged
components if necessary.
Inspect all parts after the cleaning, disinfection and/or sterilization
processes. If parts have visible damage after these processes, they
must be disposed of and replaced. Signs of visible damage may include
discoloration, corrosion, cracks, and other forms of damage.
